The business is located 35 km's northwest of Udaipur, situated on a very high peak about 905 m above sea level in the Aravalli Hills. The property lies approx 1 km from a four line highway so is easily approachable from all directions. Gogunda plays a historical role in Mewar's history; the founder of Udaipur, Maharana Udai Singh II died here (1572) and his eldest son and successor, Maharana Pratap Singh I (1572-1597), was subsequently crowned here. Because of its geographical position between Udaipur and Kumbalgarh, Gogunda became a strategic staging center and was part of the kingdom of Mewar.
The property has been completely restored including plumbing and electricals; intricate painting and mirror work adorn many of the rooms. Only the final details are required to finish the property.
The property is ideal for a heritage hotel considering its historical value and proximity to one of Rajasthan's most popular city, Udaipur.
