Ethnic Choice was developed by our clients some 10 years ago and has flourished over this period
to record some most impressive levels of turnover. The majority of the stock purchased wholesale is
from Thailand bought generally on one buying trip per annum no doubt combined with a holiday. A
CD of the 2007 catalogue is available on request though the range generally includes beachwear,
t-shirts, ladieswear including handbags and accessories. Due to the relatively low production costs of
the items, high margins at around 50% return can be enjoyed. This, coupled with a product range
wholesaling generally at between £5 and £10, has contributed to a buoyant turnover.
Sales are derived from trade shows including one in Torquay and at the Birmingham NEC which
usually take place in January or February. Whilst we are informed this contributes to some 20-25%
of turnover, the bulk of sales have historically been derived via agents working in Wales and
Cornwall/south coast. These individuals have worked on a commission only basis and whilst there is
currently a vacancy for the south coast patch, we are informed this has been a very successful way of
generating sales. Ethnic Choice also trade 2 local outlets on the Isle of Wight and other UK
mainland retailers.
In our opinion there is scope to increase turnover nationwide, building and developing on a network of
sales agents alongside the construction of a website

STORAGE
Our clients currently rent one of the caves at Ventnor Industrial Estate plus one container for around
£590 per calendar month on 'easy-in, easy-out' terms.
